In order for a website to stay live on the Internet, you will need a server that is running and connected to the Internet at all times. A web host (or web hosting provider) owns such server, deployed and running in a data centre equipped with proper security and climate control, and rents out part of the disk space and bandwidth to people and companies who need it.
Getting a web hosting plan is one of the easiest and most affordable way to run a website. Our server is configured with softwares optimized for running the most common types of websites and web applications.
It will usually take less than one day to get your web hosting account setup and ready to be used.
However, if your order includes a new domain registration, it will usually take up to 48 hours for the domain to be functional.
A domain is the primary account associated with your hosting account. If your hosting plan comes with more than one domain, the very first one that you register with us will be your primary domain, while the others will be add-on domains. Each domain have their own folder within the hosting account, where you can host different websites using one account.
A subdomain is a subfolder within a domain account, which is then accessible by adding a prefix into the domain. They are useful for creating sub-websites that are different from the main website, but are still make sense within the same domain. For example: if your main website is www.yourcompany.com, it will be particularly useful to host a sub-website of your company using store.yourcompany.com or blog.yourcompany.com.
A parked domain is a domain that is set to direct to the exact same content as another domain. This will be useful when you want to have multiple domains to access to the same content. For example: if your main website is www.yourcompany.com, you can also register for www.yourcompany.net and www.yourcompany.org to park to your main website. You can also use your parked domains for setting up email accounts too!
